Asteroid mining: The future of the mining industry

With global warming becoming a real threat, something must be done in order to combat the pollution level we emit in order to prevent a catastrophe. Earth-based mining for resources such as metals and minerals are a big culprit for this increase in pollution. Though, there is an alternative in which we can avoid much of the pollution emitted from mining while also being able to gather even more resources than we are now to provide for our growing population.

Asteroid mining is simply the idea of using specialized space mining equipment and mining asteroids for the plethora of resources they contain. With this, pollution levels can decrease, the depletion of Earth’s resources will halt, the economy will boom due to the trillions of dollars these asteroids are worth, and space travel will increase and see deeper space explorations.

Therefore, with this project, I use the art to teach people a simplified version of how asteroid mining could work while also mentioning its benefits in hopes to raises awareness and to be taken into serious for the future.
