For safety or for harm?

We may not think about this object. Some use it on a daily basis, while others store it in a secret place so one else can access it.
As we advance technologically, so do weapons, especially guns. Some think that guns are for safety. While that may be true, they can also cause harm to a lot depending on how one views gun usage.
It appears to be that the usage of the gun has been increasing over the last decade. As the portability of weapons is becoming easier, more people want to buy them for “self-defense.”
But there have been those who abuse the right to have firearms that cause innocent families to lose loved ones.
But how should guns be regulated?
Sabiq Kennedy, a freshman at the iSchool, says that everyone “18 or under 18 years old should not be able to own a gun” because some people at 18 might not be mentally stable.
That raises the question of who can own a gun.
Freshman Hayden Mosher-Smith states that “only people with an intensive background should be allowed to own a gun and not others after they pass the test.”
Ms. Calvo, the iSchool’s Spanish teacher, said, “there should be a physical test and they need to be older than 18,” considering recent events of police brutality, drug dealers, or even gang having guns and killing people. As this keeps going on, more people are being taken away from families.
In the end, it is a controversial issue it depends on the law, the states, and the people’s conditions on whether or not should own a gun for self-defense. And it also depends on the issuer whether is a person that is mentally stable or have poor reasoning. There are still some people that do not abuse the usage of a gun.
