A single person can display such a wide variety of emotional reactions on a daily basis, I think it’s so interesting how one can go from being something like exited to scared. The way people react to events never look the same, because it is rare for people to be feeling the same way. I did not have a specific idea for my theme until much later in the process. For my first photo the theme was “personality” I knew that I would want to capture the part of myself that many would call talkative or outgoing. The second picture was of me being surprised, the theme for that week was emotional reactions, that is what inspired me to choose reactions for my overall theme. After the second week, I started to realize that I wanted my overall theme to be something that had to do with human reactions. After I made this realization I stated to keep that as a possible theme in the back of my mind as the photo taking process continued. The photos that followed generally revolved around my overall theme. One of them was a picture of me looking as disgusted as possible, it was capturing my reaction of somebody saying something that I found gross or disgusting. My last photo that went into my final photo gallery was a photo of me reacting to somebody getting hurt and rushing over to help her. Our photo theme for that week was “hero or superhero” this photo captured me doing something which could be viewed as a heroic quality. I think that reactions are something that are so specific to individuals, and rarely look the same. I hope that when you view my images you are able to connect each of my photographs to my overall theme and notice reactions that are showcased in ones everyday life and think about what they may mean.
