This project is a series of three paintings (shown below) that depict different types of ruins. The purpose of these pieces was to analyze ruin fascination– or, why these destroyed architectures show up so frequently in art– and when that fascination becomes exploitative of those who experience abandoned or decaying structures in their everyday lives.
