For my senior project, I chose to create a storybook that depicts the life of a boy (Finn) who develops and experiences social anxiety and how he overcomes it. In my book “Trapped in Embarrassment” I capture the experience of social anxiety as well as including coping mechanisms. I chose to create a storybook because it can be difficult for people with social anxiety to ask or seek help. My goal when writing this book was to create an easy-to-read book that can appeal to a wide range of ages while being a resource for someone with social anxiety that offers simple coping mechanisms, as well as to educate others.
