For my senior project, I decided to make an interactive fair with a focus on business. As someone who used to frequent malls and stores in general, I wasn’t aware of all of the tactics companies used to persuade me to buy things I didn’t need. Had I been more knowledgeable about these tactics, I would have been more thoughtful of whether or not my purchases were because I wanted them or because of the environment I was in. I decided to do my project to shed light on customers’ shopping habits through a choose your own adventure novel. In this, the player gets to have a third person perspective of someone shopping in a store, called Best Bargains, and how the environment impacts their shopping experience.
