Video games. If you are reading this, you’ve probably played your fair share of them. I mean, what is there not to like? There are infinite possibilities. I know I love my fair share of video games, and the iSchool does too. Before break, I sent out a Google form, asking the iSchool several questions about their gaming experiences. I collected about 50 responses, and crunched the numbers. Let’s look at the data!
The first question on this form was about the iSchool’s main devices people use to play games. As we can see from the graph, PC won with 10 people selecting it on the form. Followed closely by Console gamers, at 9 votes, and Mobile at 6 votes. There were a lot of people who played a combination of these devices as well, with some people maining even 3 devices!
The next question on the form was about what game the iSchool enjoyed the most in the year 2024. As we can see from this graph, Roblox had the most votes, followed closely by Minecraft and Fortnite with 3 votes each, and Spiderman 2, FC24, and Stardew Valley each tying, having two votes each.
But that isn’t the main attraction of this article, we are all here to see the iSchool’s favorite video games of all time. I will show the top 5 favorite games in the iSchool, from least favorite to most favorite, the last one being the iSchool’s favorite game of all time. Let’s jump into the first game!

“It’s special to me because it has really good music, an incredible storyline, and it’s really fun,” an anonymous interviewee stated. “Its controls are really simple too, it has interesting mechanics like charms that give you special buffs, also you can do things like bounce off people’s heads by slashing above them, and more.”

“I got it like a long time ago,” a sophomore named Jason Liang stated. “I don’t know, it’s a game you can’t really compare anything to. At the time when Red Dead came out, it was the best because it’s just an incredible game.” Jason would recommend this game heavily, he believes everyone should play it.

Let’s get into the podium – the top 3 favorite games at the iSchool!
3. Fortnite
– 5 Votes –
At the #3 spot, we have Fortnite. Fortnite is a video game developed by Epic Games and released in 2017. It features seven different main game modes to play, creating a LOT of customizability and different experiences. The most popular of which, Battle Royale, is what most people play.
Fortnite Battle Royale is an online game, where you are dropped into an expansive map, full of several different unique locations. The goal of the game is to collect loot across the map, which includes several different weapons and items, and kill as many people as possible until you are the last person (or team with friends) remaining in the lobby.
There is also Fortnite Creative, which allows you to create anything you want as a map, add different mechanics, and pretty much make anything you want. Fortnite also infamously collaborates with several different companies for skins. In no other game will you find Spiderman and Peter Griffin fighting against each other with rifles.
“As a kid, that was one of the only games I really loved,” said a freshman named Curtis Green. “A lot of streamers I watched and looked up to started to play the game, so that really inspired me to do the same.” Curtis also gave us his strategy to win Fortnite effectively. “I usually like to find a spot or a POI (Point of Interest) that isn’t contested, get some decent loot so I can kill players easier and get a decent amount of material so I can build, and then I usually go around the more interesting or more populated POIs to go kill someone else and then from there, I’ll use all the powerful loot I have to win.”
Fortnite has broke countless records, and is truly a very deserved game to be at the #3 spot. You can find Fortnite on Consoles, such as the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series One and X/XS, and the Nintendo Switch, and you can find it on the Epic Games Launcher for PC and Mac.
2. Roblox
– 7 Votes –
At the #2 spot, we have Roblox. Roblox is an online platform that contains millions of user-made games. Roblox is sustained in its community, think of it as a video game social media where you can play everything from horror games to obstacle courses.
“I really like all the options and I love playing with my friends, especially scary games,” an interviewee stated. “There’s just like a variety of games. As an example, in Arsenal you’re playing in first person and have to shoot the other team members and get the most points to win.” Roblox is more of a platform than its own video game, since all its content is user generated.
Roblox can spawn things bigger than just fun games. You can find a lot of different people on the platform. The interviewee stated that Roblox is very special to them because, “I made a lot of close friends on Roblox. I met this friend that’s from Ecuador, and I still talk to her till this day and like, we call and everything, so I really like that.”
Roblox is available pretty much everywhere. Roblox is on the Xbox One, Xbox Series 5/X, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, All Meta Quests, MacOS, Android, and IOS.
1. Minecraft
– 9 Votes –
Who would’ve guessed? Minecraft is currently the most sold game of all time, and rightfully so. Minecraft is a sandbox game, where you have a world in which you can do whatever you want. You can play single-player, or with friends, and you can do anything from build massive castles to playing minigames on public servers. There are endless amounts of things you can do. In survival, your main goal is to beat the game by killing the ender dragon, the final boss of the game. There is a very linear progression through Minecraft in terms of single-player, but multiplayer is full of surprises as well.
There are online servers you can join and play with other players, with different minigames. There is really nothing you can’t do in Minecraft. “It’s just really nostalgic for me, and I’ve done so much yet so little in the game,” an anonymous freshman stated. “Minecraft is really expansive and I have met and played with so many people over the years. I personally like playing PvP games with my friends. It’s a whole lot of fun and has not gotten stale after all the years I have played.”
Minecraft is available on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, ChromeOS, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, MacOS, Android, IOS, Windows and Linux.
And that concludes the data! As of 2025, those are the favorite games at the iSchool. Falling just behind these, we have The Legend Of Zelda – Breath Of The Wild, and The Last Of Us.
